Branding is an essential part of any business and should be given the same time and consideration as any marketing or financial decision.
We aren’t saying, go out and spend lots of time and money on a nice logo, because it’s much more than that.
Before we tell you what it is, let’s also clear up what else it’s not: your product, website layout, or business name.
It is the intangible ways you communicate with your audience nonverbally (well - - sometimes verbally, but more on that later)
The better you hone your branding in, the more your business will stand out against the competition. It’s truly the easiest way to elevate your status from newcomer, to series player.
So we’ve rounded up a small list (we are a pragmatic group) for Branding Your Social Media.
1. Your Identity: This isn’t a philosophical question where we are asking you to prove your existence. What we mean is - what does your company stand for? What are your values? These decisions should lead the way for content creation.
For example: If you decide to re-share content, (let’s say recipes) this will help you decide where and what to look for. For example, if you are a local Boutique whose customers are single women, you wouldn’t share recipe ideas aimed at families with small children.
To make this easier, compile a list of topics that you do and don’t talk about. Doing this will help guide you through producing content and setting your tone.
2. Be Consistent: This is where we talk about detail. We mentioned tone in the first rule, but here is where you get specific.
More than one company will post recipe ideas. How you set yourself apart is your choice of verbiage and imagery that surrounds this content. The more consistent you are with your choice of images and wording the better!
You can maintain consistency by sticking to your company colors and fonts. These all should be chosen based on your company’s identity. So if you need inspiration refer back to the rule.
This may sound more like content guidelines, than branding, but we swear it’s not!
In an effort to achieve brand recognition, you need to keep your messages cohesive. This will help your customers easily identify with you and fuel customer loyalty.
And loyal customers are the best customers out there!
